Checking Internet History

There are various ways to check your Internet history on your computer depending on what type of system you have or browser you are using. Click on the type browser you use or My Computer for Windows PC’s for instructions on how to check the Internet history.

Recent updates to popular browsers is the addition of a feature that allows for private personal browsing.  The user must select this feature from the options menu.  When using the private browsing tool there is no Internet history saved on the computer once the browser is closed. So, if you are checking the history files you should be aware that this feature exists and therefore the history files are not always a complete and accurate way to know where the computer has been.  The only way to have a thorough look at the activity on a computer is by using some type of monitoring software.   Click here for more information.
